It was working long enough for me to upload some new audio but it has been going in and out.
Internet Explorer was giving me some error messages about memory location when It was not working.

I'm starting to upload the models..
Listen, I'm gonna put the ship textures in the same folder as the models to make it simpler..
Is that allright with you guys?
Also, I have a few nicely done renders of hte ships, I'll put them i nthe screenshots section.
EDIT: Dang, I have a T1 connection but sharepoint is so unstable and slooow...

That file structure makes sense to me for the ships. I will differ to the devs about where to put the 2D images of ships.
Sharepoint does not work for me from my office PC. I can log in but there is no ability to work on the files. From home I have only had an intermittent bout of trouble this last weekend. I do not have a newer version of MS Office so I never had multifile uploads. Band width has not been an issue to the southwest US. I am guessing a software issue instead?
Could you put the files up some place else where I or one of the devs could download to upload to Sharepoint for you?

I am not having the same trouble with Sharepoint. That is why I was thinking it is not a Sharepoint issue. (At least not all the time.) If that is the case then there still may be something in software or settings that you could do for better access.
Is everything in the file you linked to ready to go on Sharepoint as a finished project? I can download it and go to work on moving files. It would be best though if they did not have to be replaced later.

SharePoint may time out if you attempt to upload files that are larger than a few megs. If that happens, try using the "Upload Multiple Documents" feature. You can use it to upload a single document, but it uses a direct connection through an ActiveX control rather than an HTTP post, so it shouldn't time out.

Trashman, I was able to upload some more of your files in that way. SharePoint did not give me any trouble. I did not know what to do with the .tga files. There were a few textures I did not know how to match up with .3ds. Take a look and see if I did OK.
We are to put the 2d images (at 270x225.png) in the Image Library above the Shared Documents. That is when we have them ready. I am learning more about GIMP before I work more on that stage.

okay I didn't see how easy one can multi-download files. just use the "explorer view", click down the signing-in requests and you can copypaste whole folders on your harddrive with the IE. Nice thing. I guess kenneth, you won't need to zip the files anymore and I'm gonna erase the rars

Ooh i'm glad the Nierrh and Kerchan are still being used, Trashman!
...
I didn't realise that you could upload .rar's to sharepoint. I've tried .zip's in the past but had trouble with them. I assumed .rar's would be the same. Are all the ship files going to be zipped? If so, as long as the zip fuiles are named simply (Eg. FSovereign, RShrike etc) there isn't much point in putting each ship into individual folders.

of course you can zip and upload things up. I did it with my planets (can see it in the bote shared documents folder). Though I will erase those files now too. Gonna upload a 234 mb planet texture file for Zeleni (after he pm's me when he got the time for downloading cause I don't want it to stay there for a long time since we should keep the site clean from too large zip files IMO regarding the 1 gb limit for that matter ) and after he downloaded it, I'll erase that too.
well, as I said, zipping isn't necessary as long as it really sizes down certain files. with the explorer view downloading is as easy as copying files and folders on your hdd..

So for our ships should we compress the texture and the 3d files into one rar file? (Just name the rar with the ship's name and put it in the major race subfolder --- do away with the folders for each ship?)
I can redo the stations and ship I have put up if that is the case.

Edit: okay, I see the other folders have png files for the textures, so that's ok. We can just do it either way. No need for restructuring the folders.

If we get close on space I can go back and redo the old ones. New uploads will be a single rar for each ship's files.
Thanks for the tip about explorer view. I will backup what we have that way. One or two new recording sections have just come up for this next weekend. If we get anything I will put it up as well.

Maybe so, but it's not as if we speak here very often. Almost four months since the last post...
