BotF2 problem

for BUGs: http://botf2.star-trek-games.com/viewforum.php?f=32

Lloyd James wrote: When the game crashes, it automatically generates an error log, which you can find in your main BotF2 folder. Look for Error.txt or ServerError.txt; one or both of these files should be there. If they're not there, the issue may not be to do with BotF2 itself, but some other aspect of your computer. Or it's crashing before the log can be generated. Or the cause is something that isn't being checked for by the game.

To run BotF2, see also System Requirements

check your .Net-Version

(latest -atm 4.5.1- is recommend)

  • ASoft .NET Version Detector (Download) or Website (results left bottom with blue background) or

      • for example 2014-01-10: TechObjectDatabase.xml has 1.059.918 bytes, dated 2014-01-10

I'm running Supremacy fine under Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit version. Just a few known bug, e.g. saving games on huge or large maps throws the out.of.memory exception.

Maybe there are missing some software packages from microsoft. I've installed

  • the XNA Framework Redists in versions 3.1 and 4.0,
  • all Visual C++ Redists from 2008 up to 2012 in 32 and 64 Bit editions and
  • additionally selected ".Net Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)", ".NET Framework 4.5 advanced services" and "Windows Process-Activation Service -> .NET environment" under "Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off"
