Intro

A "Minor", indeed a minor race, is a non-playable race. It has own diplomacy abilities and become a member of a empire. On the other side it can be conquered (not verified). Until one of these options it is independend.

Atm there are 148 minor races and depending on game option (huge map, high density) they are all included into the game at once. (as you can check inside LOG.txt)


How to find info

  • do a wiki search for minor race name, e.g. "Dosi", or select Category Races (on the left)
    • (all minor race sites begin with "»" => sorry for this but it's because so they're sorted at the end of A-Z


mention that by pressing CTRL your browser will remain the wiki site when clicking a link

  • on the minor race site you can click on Minor race name in front of description to get into Memory Alpha


  • for ship data (if minor race has ships) click on the Ships-Link to get into BotF2-Database (search there for the ship)


  • for building data (if minor race has buildings) click on the Buildings-Link to get into BotF2-Database (search there for the building)


Mention: all mostly lists of BotF2-Database you can CopyPaste into your Excel to sort the data, filter it or something else


You can use this to print out a complete list of minors incl. Ships, Buildings and anything else (e.g. Planets) by starting this site WITHOUT copy it into Image-Folder (list might not be totally up to date)


Hint:

  • if at minor race wiki site building name is in CAPITAL LETTERS than it is inside TextDatabase.xml
  • I didn't check yet if there are data in TechObjectDatabase.xml, and as the buildings maybe doesn't appear in the game this is not relevant, too.
  • if building name is *.png than there's only the image file and maybe nothing ingame -> data might be done at non public area of forum: Minor Race Special Structure Images http://botf2.star-trek-games.com/viewtopic.php?p=26058#p26058 (search entry t=1004)
