Social divisions are rife, and many urban areas are blighted by unrest, and in some cases violent factions who oppose the govern-ment. But they have a burgeoning technological research infrastructure, and many great minds. Their folded-space transit theory is a remarkable innovation, yet hazardous. On the verge of warp capability they remain a promising civilization, but for their domestic troubles.

Rutia's answer to research and experimentation is advanced simulated models of trans-space: the inter-dimensional bonds that link layers of subspace. As they approach mastery over the behavioural patterns of these linkages, many new insights into subspace physics are predicted.
