However, if you lag behind them, they will identify that as an exploitable weakness, mercilessly. Some time ago the Zahl fought a conflict with the dangerous Krenim, and systematically disassembled their entire civilization, a fact the Krenim will never forget, and even now homeless renegade Krenim vessels still roam the surrounding region raid-ing Zahl shipping, making a general nuisance of themselves, but little more. Beyond their obvious hunger for power and influence, the Zahl enjoy the peace and freedom their society has built, and will willingly enter into trade agreements. |
